Joe brings technical expertise to the SMSI team that enhances our ability to analyze security systems design, develop RFPs, provide project management, and interface with security vendors on behalf of our clients. Joe also improves our ability to implement Security Awareness Program as well as provide customized security training.

The addition of Joe Zaccaria enhances the ability of SMSI to provide our clients with a security program that fully integrates all the components of a quality health care security program. Those components are policies and procedures backed up with training, lock and key systems, security technology, and security personnel. We have improved our ability to establish security database systems that will ensure that the security program of every hospital remains contemporary. Every hospital must undergo a security analysis every three years in order to keep their security program current. Those that don't expose themselves to greater risk and additional cost brought on by premises liability lawsuits.

As a result of the financial squeeze placed on many health care facilities, there is ever-present pressure to reduce FTEs. Security is often the first target of those cuts. The only way to effectively hold the lid on FTE costs is through the cost-effective application of technology and the institution of a security awareness program. Neither of these strategies is possible without first doing a thorough security assessment.

SMSI has already rendered these services to numerous hospitals across the country. With the addition of Joe Zaccaria, we are able to better meet the challenges of the 21st century and the realities produce by 9/11.
