Virtual Security Management is an idea whose time has come. SMSI is now bringing innovation and flexibility to hospital administrators by providing options in the management of their Hospital Security Programs. This new service is predicated on the assumption that all hospitals need professional security management expertise. All hospitals, whether large or small, no matter where they are located, need security expertise and experience. They may not need this expertise 365 days per year, but they will need it several times throughout the year.

SMSI's Virtual Security Management provides the means to have an extensive amount of security expertise at either a keystroke, mouse click, or phone call away. SMSI will provide additional support and expertise to your existing security program at a cost far less than the cost of maintaining the full time payroll burden of this kind of experience. Virtual Security Management allows SMSI to carefully monitor your security program through online security incident tracking.

The accumulative health care security experience of the SMSI is ready to solve hospital security problems as cost effectively as possible.

How Does Smsi Intend To Meet These Needs?

First, SMSI will conduct a security assessment of your hospital. This assessment will be both qualitative as well as quantitative through the use of SASSY Software. As a result of that assessment, a full detailed and written report will be provided. That report will identify both strengths and weaknesses of the existing security program. The report will suggest cost effective solutions and will identify cost saving efficiencies.

Second, SMSI will provide and install, at no additional cost, PPM 2000 Security Management Software (LAN Version). SMSI will set the software up and insert all the user defined fields particular to your hospital. Finally, SMSI will train up to five operators in the use of the software. Once the software is up and running, SMSI will monitor, via the Internet, your incident history. SMSI will provide monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly reports to management. Those reports will include data tables as well as graphs that will help all parties identify emerging trends as well as allow for mid-course corrections.

Third, SMSI will, after the initial assessment, make an agreed upon number of visits per year to your hospital in order to insure the security program remains on track. If necessary we will conduct onsite training programs as needed during those visits.

Fourth, SMSI will provided, as needed, unlimited on-line and/or telephone security management support. This service will provide the hospital with security management expertise on a timely basis in order to address unforeseen security events and take appropriate corrective action.

Fifth, SMSI will help establish and maintain a hospital-wide Security Awareness Program in order to involve all employees in sound security practices. The involvement of employees in meeting security needs, such as visitor control, reduces reliance on security personnel. This Security Awareness Program will address the specific needs of the hospital and it will not be generic.

Sixth, SMSI will represent the hospitals in its dealings with security vendors, such as contract guard companies, alarm companies, CCTV vendors, and purveyors of infant protection systems. SMSI will help develop requests for proposals (RFP) as well as oversee the selection process. If required, SMSI with its strategic partners, with oversee the design and engineering requirements of bid specifications. These services will ensure that the hospital is getting a system appropriate to its needs, and that they are getting a fair shake from the vendors.

Finally, any additional services that may be required and are outside the scope of the agreement will be quoted in advance at 30% below the normal billing rate. SMSI is not affiliated with any contact guard or alarm company. All of these services are available as stand-alone offerings.
